WOW toys review and giveaway

I remember when Mr2 was a baby and he was given his first WOW toy.  To be honest I didn’t think much of it at the time as we had a playroom filled with various brands and styles of playthings – I thought it was just another one in the mix. Wrong!

Mr2  soon taught me about the fun and imagination that goes hand-in-hand with these little vehicles.  Each toy comes with at least one character, and some include animals and other accessories.  I especially love the baby-wearing mama – a toy after my own heart!  See her in the middle below?

Another bonus is the fact that they run on friction motors – NO BATTERIES!  Who else has been caught out on a birthday or Christmas with a toy that can’t be played with for lack of batteries?  I know we have and WOW toys won’t give you this problem.  They simply don’t need anything to make them a part of any imaginary play.

The boxes state the ages are from 1.5 – 5yo but my kids have (and continue to) play with it outside of these ages.  Not to mention the fact that I love to play with them too!  Check out the granny riding the sidecar below – yep, that was me!  Santa often flies the rescue helicopter and the farmer gets around in the pink racing car.  Hmmm, you gotta have fun too right?

Hand on heart I can say that these toys get the most play in our house (this can be evidenced by the insanely large collection we have) and that’s because they ignite your child’s imagination.  They’re not intricate and fiddly which works well with chubby little fingers.  You don’t have to worry about them breaking because they have a 10yr satisfaction guarantee including for breakages.  Any toy that can withstand the wrath of my 2yo wins my vote.

Thanks to Modern Brands we are lucky enough to have an ‘Ernie The Fire Engine’ to give away to one lucky reader.  If you’d like to be part of this fabulous prize (our very first WOOT) simply follow the directions below:

You know, I don’t know if I can pick a favourite toy. My favourite toys were my books. I did have one of those Fisher & Price activity centres that went through me AND my siblings and was still alive and (almost) kicking when my nieces were born!

My Sammy is sooo into firetrucks at the moment, so this prize is right up his ally.

My Teddy bear he could protect me from scary dreams and monsters at night, keep my secrets and be whatever my imagination made up during the day, astronaut, doctor, bus driver or Barbie’s boyfriend because we didn’t have money for a ken but Ted was infinitely superior being so cuddly ;)

I can remember a doll that my grandmother gave me for one birthday and if you held her hand it would walk along (of sorts). The doll was nearly as tall as me and I thought it was the best toy ever.

My favourite toy was a pink soft toy elephant that I got for Christmas one year. Elly and I were inseparable – we would read books under my bed covers with a torch at night. Still have it to this day.

Well being the youngest of 3 siblings & all girls, i was given lots of hand me downs. Most dolls had their heads pulled off, cars had only 3 wheels etc but i still didnt know much different.
Not untill my Uncle Pete brought me my very own black Pound Puppy that I loved & carried around with me everywhere & 22 years later it’s still ALL mine & yes it’s head is still attached :)

My favorite would have to be baby alive, still have her with her baby oiled hair. I do wish I had kept my large smurf collection !!

My favorite toys was a teddy I got when I was very little (about 3) and needed to stay in hospital for a few nights as I had blocked tear ducts. Pink teddy and I have been inseparable for a long time!

Favourite toy…mmm…that would have to be my Barbie townhouse with Dallas the horse and the ‘lovely’ Afghan Hound dog with its own bed. Many hours were spend moving Barbie up and down in the string operated lift in her pink palace.
